Meet TIGAHBOY! 👋
Hi there! I specialize in keeping macroalgae and marine planted tanks. I have kept saltwater aquariums since 2004 and pivoted almost entirely to macroalgae and marine plant tanks since early 2020. With the help of Dalua, I most recently embarked on a new project that deviates from my typical aquariums with a mix of macroalgae and corals in a UNS R80 system with dual lighting zones. On the left side of the tank, I have my lighting set to full daylight spectrum and I'm keeping macroalgae and gorgonians that are still presentable under more white lighting, and on the right side my lighting is set to more blue spectrum with plans to keep soft and stony corals that fluoresce under the bluer lighting.

About Tigahboy's setups
There’s really nothing else like Tigahboy's setups.
An UNS R80 (76 gallon total volume) runs as a mixed macroalgae and coral system — a balance between structure, flow, and natural growth. A UNS 90LA centered around a mature Red Mangrove rising above the waterline, with a Long Tentacle Anemone below, surrounded by soft corals and a pair of Darwin variant clownfish moving through the branches.
Around these main displays, smaller bowls, nanos, and picos are dedicated purely to ornamental macroalgae — simple, clean systems that highlight color, texture, and form.
Together, it’s not just a collection of tanks — it’s a connected vision of reef, macro algae life, and ecosystems, each one pushing a different angle of what aquariums can be.
